Ixora paludosa Kurz
I was nine, maybe seven I didn't remember.
But I remember I was in the hospital.
I played in a garden alone, my parents too busy to care.
Couldn't have been figured out what's going on.
There was a little bridge at the center of that garden, and a lot of fish and flowers too.
And too many rats under the rock, so I decided to not sit there.
Moving on to the hedge, there was a little boy.
We're at the same height.
I think I wore a blue sunny-dress that time, not sure if it's already summer.
He said "Hi."
I kinda scared.
Mom told me don't talk to a stranger.
Or maybe just a little bit shy, I couldn't tell.
We were under the window of baby's room.
I'm assumed that his family in there too.
"Pssstt.." he told me to quite.
I don't even make a noise.
Little did I know that where is my parents because there are too many babies in one room.
We took a look to the windows. I step in a wood. So did he.
Still, can't find out my parents.
He runs back to the garden.
I was a curious kid, I followed him.
He picked flowers.
It's Ixora paludosa Kurz.
Or as we known, Asoka Flowers.
He said, "Hey, you wanna see something cool?"
I nodded.
He handed me one of that.
"So you just need to remove a little of the stem, and pull out the nucleus."
He got my attention.
"And you gonna need to keep the crown, then put back the nucleus."
He licked a drop of water that came out of it.
"Is that okay?" I concerned.
"Yeah, try it. Its nice and sweet."
I tried.
He didn't lie.
He held his flowers between his fingers and blew it up.
I was surprised.
It's the coolest thing I've ever been watched.
The flowers looked like a windmill.
He ran away.
Didn't even asked his name.
No idea, maybe his mom called.
Or maybe he just wanted to show me his thing.
I picked a bunch of that flowers.
Looked around for my person.
Ten years later.
I still in the garden.
Different one.
But already knew what is exactly going on.
Holding the same color of Ixora paludosa Kurz.
Thinking about that boy.
And my baby brother that passed away.
